Fertilizer Plant Operator
Non-Exempt Position
Level IV
This position will work closely with the Fertilizer Plant Manager to ensure the safe operation of all tasks and processes at the Casselton fertilizer plant.
Location: Casselton, ND
Reports to: Agronomy Operations Manager and Fertilizer Plant Manage
Job Duties:
- Assist the Fertilizer Plant Manager in MRGA’s daily operations of Casselton Fertilizer Plant
- Operate equipment used to fill bins and tower
- Load trucks and application equipment
- Promote MRGA products and services to customers and employees in a positive manner
- Promote a team environment throughout entire company
- Promote MRGA culture throughout entire company
Other duties:
- Assist employees and customers during seasonal grain and agronomy needs
- Work with all employees to maintain a clean and safe facility
- All other duties deemed necessary
Job Requirements:
- Self-Motivated with strong work ethic
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Driven to maximize company efficiency and profits in all company departments
- Follow and help enforce all company policies and procedures
- Promote and assist in appearance and image of MRGA
- CDL a plus but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate all MRGA facilities.

Sales Agronomist
Summary: This position is responsible for making sound agronomic recommendations to our customers regarding seed, crop nutrients and crop protection products and the sale of those same products along with custom application and precision ag services.
Location: Barnesville, MN
Job Duties:
Sales Growth
- Prospect, build, and maintain positive working relationships with current and potential customers
- Make sound product and service recommendations to improve customer’s operation
- Enhance vendor relationships and implement programs focused on growing the Agronomy division
Value Creation
- Represent yourself as a problem solver to provide value added solutions for customers
- Establish and implement business and marketing solutions with customers
- Help coordinate and oversee the marketing of all agronomy sales and services
Customer Acquisition and Retention
- Continually gather and monitor information on competition and market trends
- Communicate with Agronomy Sales & Marketing Manager to further enhance the Agronomy division
- Develop regular sales call strategies with assigned customers and prospects
Customer Relationships
- Provide superior service to both current and existing customers
- Resolve all issues in both the company’s and customer’s best interest

Job Requirements:
- Graduation for an accredited related program. Relevant experience may be substituted for education
- CCA Certification beneficial

Mechanic
Mechanic will primarily perform repair work on tractor/trailers, application equipment, fleet pickups etc.
Location: Barnesville, MN
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain rolling stock, which may include a company’s fleet of pickups, trucks, fertilizer application equipment, tractor/trailers, farm tractors, and other motor vehicles.
- Assists in plant maintenance when needed.
- Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups.
- Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.
- Troubleshooting broken down equipment
- Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist.
- Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
- Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance
- Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation.
- Performs other related duties such as driving truck or helping with day-to-day operations
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of trucks with air brakes
- Excellent mechanical repair skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read service and repair manuals.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of related experience preferred.
- Commercial driver’s license a plus.
- Tools will be provided
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.

Custom Applicator
This position is responsible for operating application equipment to apply crop nutrients and crop protection products in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner.
Location: Casselton, ND & Barnesville, MN
Job Duties:
- Apply fertilizer and crop protection products with a Sprayer and or Floater.
- Operate and Maintain equipment.
- Fulfill customer orders in an accurate and timely manner.
- Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Abide by all safety regulations to ensure safety to oneself, coworkers, and customers
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
- Previous industry experience
- Custom Applicator License (willing to train the right candidate)
- CDL or ability to obtain
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen
- Must meet DOT and Company requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
