Graham Elementary's existing library was expanded by adding new area which included a reading room, a workroom, a restroom, and an audio-video storage room. A component of the design concept was to make the addition look as though it was part of the original design. Great care was taken to match the materials and the construction techniques of the exisitng structure.

The project scope also included the remodeling of the kitchen dock to accomodate a walk-in freezer/cooler, as well as providing additional gym storage and installation of gym carpeting.

North elevation of the addition. Corbelled brick
details of the original building were used to frame
the windows of the addition.

the original building.

The addition and remodel are shown in blue. The circulation desk was moved to the center of the room to provide visual control over the space by the librarian.
